brief<\/span> Design a cover for the employee annual and accompanying presentation artwork. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the company was growing, there was a need to communicate the tangible aspects of growth. The scope of our operations had changed radically, and there needed to be a shift in mindset (namely for folks not actually working in the restaurants).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using Flash connected to a SQL query into the data source, I created a generative poster which randomly created a pixelized-persona assigned to the name of every current employee of the company. This art was the primary feature of the employee annual that year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

result<\/span> On seeing the art, folks immediately began looking for their own names, pointing out names they recognized and marveling over the number of people that had recently joined the organization. The cover became interactive in that people took out their pens and began notating individuals they’d found. The message was simple: There are a lot more people here than before \u2014 we need to keep that in mind.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
